Managing a Restructuring Event

Before a restructuring exercise can begin, a group of one or more planners must be identified. Typically planners are HR professionals or line managers and directors tasked with a specific objective (such as merging two departments). Once the planners have been identified, each planner should be assigned a role (Blueprint Editor or Blueprint Administrator) and responsibilities for restructuring one or more parts of an organization.

The following figure shows an example of authorizations for Planners A, B and C.

You need to work with your OrgPlus Enterprise Administrator to make sure the role for each planner is appropriately configured.

Blueprint Editors

Blueprint Editors can create and edit blueprints. Once planning is complete, a Blueprint Editor can set the status of a blueprint to “Final Draft” so that a Blueprint Administrator can review and then action the blueprint. Blueprint Editors can only view and edit their plans. For detailed information on how to perform editing tasks, see the topics/sections under Blueprint Editor, starting with Creating a New Blueprint.

Blueprint Administrators

In addition to being able to edit and create plans, plan editors can action plans back to the source HR system. Blueprint Administrators can also see all active blueprints created by Blueprint Editors. For more information, see the topics/sections under Bluerpint Administrator, starting with Actioning a Blueprint.

Planning

You can create, view, or edit a blueprint at any time if you have the appropriate security permissions. See Accessing Blueprints for more information.
